Orlando “Andy” Wilson is an experienced international private investigator, security consultant, and published author with over 35 years in the specialist security and investigation industry. He has operated at all levels globally, providing expert services in close protection (bodyguard services), kidnap and ransom prevention, executive protection, corporate intelligence, hostile environment training, and investigations involving organized crime and narco-terrorism.
Originally from Falmouth, Cornwall in the United Kingdom, with Celtic and Northern European ancestral origins, Orlando grew up around fishing boats and the outdoors. At age 16, he began working on commercial fishing boats in North Devon. In 1988, at 17, he enlisted in the British Army, volunteering for a 22-month frontline operational tour in Northern Ireland with 4 Platoon, 1 WFR (Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment). This provided foundational training in personal security, anti-terrorist operations, and small-unit warfare. He later joined the unit’s Reconnaissance Platoon and trained with elite units, including the Royal Marine Mountain and Arctic Warfare Cadre on South Georgia and U.S. Army Special Forces in Germany.
Since leaving the Army in 1993, Orlando has worked extensively in regions including South, East and West Africa, Western and Eastern Europe, the U.S., Middle East, Latin America, and the Caribbean, while coordinating projects worldwide. His expertise includes:
- Close protection and bodyguard services for Middle Eastern royal families and corporate clients
- Kidnap and ransom (K&R) services and prevention programs in high-risk areas like South America, the Caribbean, and West Africa
- Corporate intelligence and investigations into organized crime, including firsthand experience with former Soviet Union Mafia groups in Eastern Europe
- Tactical training for private individuals, police units, and government agencies, including operations in Mexico addressing narco-terrorism
Orlando’s diverse operational experience enables him to deliver practical, cutting-edge private investigation services, security consulting, and training programs. He is a partner at Risks Incorporated, specializing in international security solutions, risk management, and hostile environment awareness training.
